Square dancing in Shanghai’s parks and public squares is one of the most wonderfully strange things about this city. Every evening, hundreds of older women gather with bluetooth speakers and choreographed routines. We join them. No experience required. No embarrassment guaranteed — there’s too much joy in the room for embarrassment.
